One the bright lights among revitalized and desirable Calgary communities is undoubtedly Killarney.
It is one of the city’s oldest and most established neighbourhoods. It is also one that has succeeded in transforming toward a fresh and vibrant new generation without compromising its unique heritage and charm.
I have been spending more time in Killarney lately working on key properties, like these brand new K4 Developments offerings at 2007 and 2009, 27 St. SW, which serve as great examples of a new wave of character luxury options now further enhancing the local real estate market. (I am also listing land at 2002 26a St. SW -- bare land to develop new infills).
There’s a lot to love about Killarney. I expect it to be among the rising picks later this summer when Avenue Magazine releases its annual “Calgary’s Best Neighbourhoods” feature. Call me anytime at 403.830.0331 for more information on the evolving market in Killarney.
For now, here’s a snapshot of a few standout benefits of the community, among many . . .
Demographics. Killarney boasts some of the best diversity demographics in the city, hosting everyone from young professionals and growing families to many who have called Killarney home for decades. It is also a popular spot for new infills and heritage home upgrades – adding a continual stream of new life and energy.
Community engagement. Killarney rates high on key engagement benchmarks such as number of community halls and participation in community associations.
Investment value. The neighbourhood has also been singled out as a top performer for predicted investment value, both short-term and long-term. It’s a good time to enter the Killarney market with many positives taking shape for the future.
Walk score. Another area where Killarney is at or near the top compared to similar communities. There is so much to do, see and enjoy, all in convenient walking distance. Many streets boast wide sidewalks on both sides with mature trees that make the easily accessible outdoor environment a top feature of the neighbourhood.
